சிவாஜி (தோஹா - கத்தார்)

* * *

( somehow, i managed to get a ticket.... thanks to the Tamil family that helped me)

(Fans thronging the ticket counter... needless to say that the shows were houseful continously)

(fans displaying their love and affection for Rajni)

(After taking strenous efforts in installing Tamil fonts in this computer in vain, I am left with no option but to post the blog in English... with due apologies)

__

First time, I got to see a Rajni film on its release date. Had I been in TN now, it would not be possible for me to have watched a film on its first day.. not because of the skyrocketing ticket price (not only in black), but due to lack of inspiration to see the movie. But, Sivaji was a great occassion for the Tamils, Malayalees and other Rajni fans who gathered at the Doha Cinema Theatre (Qatar) to glance the visual treat of Rajni-Shankar duo. True to their tradition, both Rajni and Shankar did not let down their audience. A.R. Rahman's numbers were already a hit. Though I am not a fan of Rajni nor I had any inclination towards Shankar, I felt proud to be part of that moment as it triggered my nostalic past in TN.

For expatriates like me, this was truly an occasion to rejoice...Tamils came from all parts of Qatar... all without any due publicity, and banking on hearsay information only. I couldn't find even a minute boring... thats all i can say about this mega-commercial film ( :)) where Rajni's style ruled till the end aptly guided by Shankar's powerful screenplay. No other Indian movie would have attracted this kind of extravagant appeal among the Indian public in Qatar. In short, it was a get-together for Tamils...from India and Sri Lanka!
